Guard your modesty ~ oh muslimah.

I hear sisters who don’t wear hijab, but feel they are better than the sisters who do wear hijab, but with make up, tight clothes, hair showing etc ~ to them I say, follow what your Allah has ordered you to do first.  Dress how he has asked you to, cover your aura how he has instructed you, and leave the judging to Him, for HE alone, has the right to judge anyone. Do not use this cause, as an excuse so as not to embrace a part of the muslimah’s identity.

Remember, shaitaan lurks around every muslimah ever so zestfully … His ultimate goal is to lure her into sin. The graver the sin, the more the reward for him.

For sisters, who wish to embrace the hijab but have been fighting their own little battle between, pleasing the world and pleasing Allah ~ encourage them.  May they find peace in the path chosen by Allah for them. Ameen

For sisters, who are drifting (just like the sister in the below video) ~ make dua, lots of dua, that Allah swt makes her nafs stronger than the whispers of the wretched shaitaan.

Second Umrah 2011

I know, I havent been around for so long. Alot of events have happened, since March 2011. One of which was samie’s surgery and the other was our Umrah. I think, I’ll dedicate both of these different posts with pictures. However in the middle of all this, one thing that was sorely neglected, was the boys’ studies. Just havent been able to give them the kind of attention, I used to give them.

Last year, after sam’s operation, we wanted to perform Umrah.  I believe, Umrah/Haj is the best way to reinforce our deen and emaan, provided finances are available. Samie has been in relatively good health, except for the swelling in his right lower abdomin, which has been giving him cramps recently.  We decided to perform the Umrah while the boys had their spring holidays of 10 days. So on 30th March, we visited Jeddah and the additional joy, was that Sam’s sister, sheema was joining us with her family too for a couple of days. The trip per se, was tiring but the joy and calm and satisfaction is truly beyond words.

On the first day we arrived, we rested and since we were in Ahraam, performed our Umrah in the evening after Isha. The crowd was huge. BaituAllah was blessed with thousands upon thousands of pilgrims as always.  I dont remember a moment in our tawaaf’s around the Kaaba, when I was not crying like a baby in repentence, in gratitude, in sheer joy, feeling like, what have I done to deserve this huge gift from Allah swt !! Surely He knows best. Inspite of all the overwhelming feelings, I remembered to pray for every single person I had known !! All of my Ummah, all of my newly reverted sisters and brothers and all those specially chosen dae’s by Allah. I was so overjoyed that I remembered to make duas for  absolutely everyone from family, relative, neighbours, friends, collegues and even for the taxi driver who had dropped us !!!

My main worry was Sam. I had been such a pain for the kids thru out the air travel, making sure the boys did not let sam carry any of the luggage but thankfully Sam complained of no pains thru out the Tawaaf and sahi. I did my sahi with Sheema.  The tiny book that I carried with the english translation and proper pronounciation made it easy to connect and “FEEL” what I was begging of Allah for.

This time, all the boys including Sam, decided to go bald naturally becoz  it is Afzal.

For those of you’ll who plan to visit or wish to know more about what to expect in a similar travel to Mecca, apart from sheer exhilaration. I must advise you to really wear comfortable slippers or sandals, carry a small bag to keep your slippers in everytime you visit the haram and try to leave atleast 20 minutes earlier than the salat time so as to find a place as forward as possible. In every corner of Haram, you will find abundance of drinking water “the blessed zam zam” so dont worry about water. Please remember to wear clean ~ comfortable clothes as opposed to silkish or synthetic fabrics. Ofcourse we wish to be presentable in Baituallah but one must also consider the heat especially since we women wear an abaya.

I wish to share my beautiful experience in the most supremely majestic of all places in the world with you. Please do share if you have had any experiences as well.

Here are just some of the pictures of that memoriable trip :

Makeover of Mecca ~ Kaaba.

I bumped into this blog which had a similar subject to what article, I was writing then. It is rather interesting and “Las Vegas of the East” was another insult that the west conveniently finds appropriate for putting up in their newspaper on a certain article relating to the massive constuction around the kaaba.

Please do visit this site to read what some others as well as what the authors point of view is:

http://canterburyblues.wordpress.com/2010/01/02/extreme-makeover-mecca/

Personally, I feel, having all those tall sky scrappers just across the gates of Kaaba are completly unnecessary and a total waste of money. What really are the money mongers selling ? Kaaba view rooms, apartments, duplexes ?????? Shamefull, if you ask me. One travels miles across to spend his precious moments in repentence, in finding peace, in asking forgiveness and feeling that phenomenal feeling that you get no where else in the world but in the Kaaba. That is not the place for the spoilt, the arrogant and the status conscious !! If they cannot give up their luxuries, their comforts and their self proclaimed importance …. what ARE THEY doing there in the first place ???

A compact clean room with clean sheets, running hot/cold water and electricity is more than enough when you intend to spend at least 5 salaats if not more in the masjid ! Are you really spending all that money on a five star apartment to please Allah or have a picnic ????? Plenty of places for picnic spots in Mecca, the kaaba not being one of them.

Nobody visits Mecca, to buy exclusive jewellry or watches or to eat out at five star 7 course meals !! What is the purpose of visiting Kaaba ? Is that so lost to the Government ?

We as muslims are asked to wear the same clothes which is the two unstitched white sheets to cover our bodies for men. That is  a symbol that stands for equality amongst rich, poor, black, white, pink, yellow or turqoise or which ever race we belong to. Then why does the saudi government allow for these unnecessary landmarks when they are blessed with the entire world’s holliest landmark ? If they must have huge and tall buildings (to accomodate the large numbers of pilgrims in Hajj and Ramadhan periods ) then have them atleast 30-40 kms away from the Haram. Why are they so short sighted ? Why are they going against the very principles of Islam which disagrees with extravagance and spending on luxuries when it can easily be spent on uplifting and benefiting the muslim society as such with schools, bridges, hospitals, roads etc …

I completly disagree with the need created for these sky scrappers. And perhaps for once I agree with what the west feel about which direction we are going in or should I say,” that are being lead” !

Regrettably I close my argument here.

If you are going to read the article of which I have provided the link up above, please make sure you also read the youtube slide presentation of what plans Atkins has for the reconstruction of the outer area of Kaaba. which is, as they said, not been approved till now.

PIG FAT By Dr. M. Amjad Khan

Why Pig Fat is not mentioned but code(s) are printed??

In nearly all the western countries including Europe, the PRIMARY choice for meat is PIG. There are a lot of farms in these countries to breed this animal.

In France alone, pig farms account for more than 42,000.

PIGS have the highest quantity of FAT in their body compared to other animals. And Europeans and Americans try to avoid fats.

Thus, where does the FAT from these PIGS go? All pigs are cut in slaughter houses under the control of the department of food and it was the headache of the department of food to dispose of the fat removed from these pigs.

Formally, it was burnt (about 60 years ago). Then they thought of utilizing it. First, they experimented it in the making of SOAPS and it worked.

Then, a full network was formed and this FAT was chemically processed, packed and marketed, while the other manufacturing companies bought it. In the meantime, all European states made a rule that every Food, Medical and Personal Hygiene product should have the ingredients listed on its cover. So, this ingredient was listed as PIG FAT.

Those who are living in Europe for the past 40 years know about this.
But, these products came under a ban by the ISLAMIC COUNTRIES at that
time, which resulted in a trade deficit to the western countries.

Going back in time, if you are somehow related to South East Asia, you might know about the provoking factors of the 1857 INDIAN MUTINY. At that time, rifle bullets were made in Europe and transported to the sub-continent by sea vessels. It took months to reach India and the gun powder in it was ruined due to the exposure to sea.

Then, they got the idea of coating the bullets with fat, which was PIG FAT. The fat layer had to be scratched by teeth before using them. When the word spread, the soldiers, mostly Muslim and some Vegetarians, refused to fight, which eventually lead to the mutiny.
The Europeans recognized these facts, and instead of writing PIG FAT,
they started writing ANIMAL FAT. All those living in Europe since the 1970’s know this fact. When the companies were asked by authorities from the MUSLIM countries, what animal fat is it, they were told it was COW and SHEEP Fat. Here again a question raised, if it was COW or SHEEP Fat, it was still HARAAM to MUSLIMS, as these animals were not SLAUGHTERED as per the ISLAMIC LAW. Thus, they were again banned.
Now, these multinational companies were again facing a severe drought of money as 75% of their income comes from selling their goods to Muslim countries, and these earn BILLIONS OF DOLLARS of profit from their exports to the MUSLIM WORLD.

Finally they decided to start a coding language, so that only their Departments of Food Administration should know what they are using, and the common man is left in the dark. Thus, they started E-CODES. These E-INGREDIENTS are present in a majority of products of multinational firms including, but not limited to . . .

TOOTH PASTE, SHAVING CREAM, CHEWING GUM, CHOCOLATE, SWEETS, BISCUITS, CORN FLAKES, TOFFEES, CANNED FOODS,
FRUIT TINS, some medication Multi-vitamins, etc.

Since these goods are being commonly used in all MUSLIM Countries, our society is facing problems like shamelessness, rudeness and sexual promiscuity.

So, I request all MUSLIMS or non-pork eaters to check the ingredients of the ITEMS of daily use and match it with the following list of E-CODES. If any of the ingredients listed below is found, try to avoid it, as it contains PIG FAT.

E-Codes:
E100, E110, E120, E 140, E141, E153,

E210, E213, E214, E216, E234, E252,E270, E280,

E325, E326, E327, E334, E335, E336, E337,

I’m Back.

Hello friends, I’m back.

There are mainly two reasons why we dont update our daily dairies or blog :

  1. Just too lazy to feed it
  2. far too many things happening to keep track of.

Last couple of months have been so hectic. So many great and not so good things happened.

Before I go into all that, I’d like to share with you my new motto : “Life Is Good”

I think inspite of the scores and scores of incidents that happen in our daily lives, one thing we should never forget is to thank the Almighty for the blessings coz Life is Good. Look around you, perhaps look at the news and you’ll find plenty of reasons to be happy with what we have.

No the summer has not been a soul searching period for me, on the contrary, it was a period when I hoped to catch some time off to soul search.

The summer camp was good. I had not expected a great response coz most of the families were out, but considering I got as many children as I wanted, I am happy. We held the class two days a week and the program ended  in a month.

I also held a card making and alter art class for ladies every monday which was fruitful too. Although this was supposed to be for ladies, I didnt mind young- college- going- girls joining too.

As end of August approached, the delimma began, school Admissions !!

We need to have Eman in a special school which can cater to his specific needs.

Bilal and Sawaab are reluctant to go back to DASS for obvious reasons. Inspite of all the sheer nonsense going around Dubai that schools will be flying empty come september, I have still not managed to find a school that has any spaces available !! The good news though is that DASS has taken drastic steps to making very prominent and remarkable improvements. All the new teachers have been taken from the US, only three of the previous teachers remain, they now have a councellor and also a vice principal. Inspite of all this, some of the most notorious student faces are still lingering in there !

Inspite of a long and nerve recking wait, we finally got our umrah visa for saudi arabia. we left on 27th Aug and returned on 5th September. 6 days in Mecca and 3 in medina. We had prepared ourselves for some inconveniences but pleasently everything went so smooth. Alhamduallah, It was the most ELATING experience we had, although we were fasting, zam zam on the heads and sheila, made it easy. It is by far not easy to perform umrah in the month of Ramadan, that too fasting, but believe me, it is every bit worth it. I will be making a photobucket album very shortly for all the muslim brothers and sisters to view and perhaps get some information and advice too.

We are back now and still in a state of joy and sadness. Joy because being in the Haram, so close to Baitulallah is probably the best experience we have ever had and sad, because I regret why we did’nt do it earlier.  Inshallah we hope to go back every year in Ramadan.

Dear friends, here I have only placed very very few photos just to give you a glimpse of our journey, please do visit again, coz I will be placing the link of my photobucket album with detailed descriptions.
